I checked with Tim Pearson from the Trinity project (KDE3 fork -
http://trinity.pearsoncomputing.net) who was interested in doing the
work but he is up to his eyeballs with a new release and a port to
cmake. It might come alive again after that. We left off that we
needed to finalize the KDE4 spec. Once that was done and published we
would start collecting the pledges. The issue was the split between
those who need it for KDE3 and those who need it for KDE4. We need to
fill the KDE3 pledge as a dependency for the KDE4 version (by virtue of
who is doing the work and the way they would implement - not a technical
dependency). If both fill, we will have both versions which is the goal.
It is a fairly substantial project. As someone else commented early, no
quick fixes here. Thanks - John
