maybe it seems like that, but i am sorry for having to disappoint you:

the reply message is a html document, so you have two ways of inserting
another:
merging the latter into the further or an iframe.

while the iframe solution would indeed be a way to preserve the other message
in 100%, it is impossible or at least impractical (you have to store the
additional documents somewhere)

the merging solution, however, is what this bug is about in the first place: as
soon as you can merge in another message in a reliable way, you can edit it
anyway.

so sorry, no quick'n'dirty solution here.
