Summary: Mail filtering in kmail 2.1.1 introduces a resource
conflict and occasional crash
Product: kmail2
Version: 2.1.1
Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: filtering
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: kbug at gregwalker.me.uk
Version: 2.1.1 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
When filtering mail through spamassassin using the following rule:
Size <250K filter action: Pipe through /usr/bin/vendor_perl/spamc
(spamd is running via init scrips)
When spamassassin adds the headers related to the filer a left/right resource
conflict box will pop up. Inveriably, the left hand message is the one to keep
as it contains the new headers added by spamassassin.
This has only occured since the akonadi resource managemnt framework has been
added. Temporarily removing the spamassassin pipe filter, I've not seen the
message pop-up. Occasionally kmail will then crash and when re-opened the
status bar will indicate message filtering is taking place. I don't see this at
a normal startup.
I've ensured the nepomuk service is running as with strigi. I've disabled
strigi to see if the issues goes away as strigi could be opening the file too.
It doesn't seem to matter if strigi is enabled or not.
Maybe related to bug 276875?
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Filter messages through the above rule. - Resource conflict
Disable message filter - no resource conflict
Maybe related to bug 276875?
Actual Results:
I'd expect kmail/spamassassin's behaviour to silently add the headers as per
every version of kmail I've been using since 2.2 ;-)
Maybe related to bug 276875?
Expected Results:
Message should be filtered by spamassassin and not produce akonadi resource
conflicts.
