Syncing and email works better in more recent versions, 
e.g. snapshots/kdepim-ce-package_2011-01-04-09-32
I could send and receive and email fine in many situations,
thus closing the issue for now, we need more specific reports 
if imap or imap idle hangs again where it should not.
