Similar problem here with KDE/kmail 4.73 -- according to Synaptic, the latest
available for my Kubuntu system.  I can clear the "Waiting" message sometimes
by moving to another message in the inbox, but something is clearly very wrong
here.  A recent update is probably responsible, since I never saw this message
until recently.
