Thank you for the feedback.  I am using Linux Mint 12 KDE.  I have always used 
Mozilla's Thunderbird email client, but want to make a complete switchover to 
KDE.  So I am somewhat disappointed to learn that their pim is so thoroughly 
broken.  I can't even get the Address Book to accept any entries in KMail.

*sigh*

Maybe I ought to fire KDE, huh.  Anyway, thanks again.
