Unfortunately I have to comment that this still happens with akonadi-based
kmail2 : have an IMAP account (In my case GMail) configured with "Enable
disconnected mode" checked. Start PC without any network connectivity. Start
Kmail. Try to view the Inbox folder. Watch the spinner spin, and nothing else
happens. Interesting fact : if I have labels set in my account (server side),
the folders they create are accessible even in offline mode, no trouble there.
Only the main Inbox folder of the IMAP ressource is causing trouble.
