i'm seeing the same problem in KMail 4.7.0, KDE 4.7.0.  i tried many variations
on the suggestion in comment #3, but the problem remains.  one of the times,
KMail seemed to forget about KWallet's existence, asking me whether i want to
store my SMTP password insecurely even though the KWallet was running and the
wallet was open (opened by Akonadi from a previous KMail instance).

oddly, the Mail Dispatcher Agent is absent from System Settings --> Personal
Information --> Akonadi Resources Configuration, and i can't add it because
it's greyed out.

for the record, i'm running Kubuntu 11.04.
