But this is a google calender plugin, not a generic caldav plugin, right?

But gcaldaemon [1] for example works very well. I am using it since some years
now as a workaround until some part of KDE will be able to sync wit google
calendars. (google <-> gcaldaemon <-> local ics files <-> kde)

Did not happen a single time to me.
