This happens here too, with the following package versions:
akonadi-backend-mysql   1.5.1-1
akonadi-kde-resource-googledata 1.1.0-1
akonadi-server  1.5.1-1
libgcal0        0.9.6-1

… altough I tested libgcal with the examples from their homepage and it doesn't
seem to be the culprit.
