Akonadi had been running fine for a few weeks, and the imap component for a few
days; then I selected more than 700 messages and deleted them. They started
disappearing slowly (as usual since kmail2, perhaps 10 per second), and halfway
through, while I wasn't doing anything else involving akonadi, akonadi's imap
resource crashed. Since then, each time I close the crash notification, another
one pops out, until I stop akonadi. Same thing if I restart KDE.
