Not sure whether this is the same bug or not, but system information is:

Application: kontact (4.4.6)
KDE Platform Version: 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1)
Qt Version: 4.7.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.34.7-0.3-default i686
Distribution: "openSUSE 11.3 (i586)"

This immediately follows a large update of openSUSE.  Interestingly, KMail,
KOrganizer and Akregator all start immediately as stand-alone apps (I haven't
tried any other components.  Valgrind report follows.
