Some people unknowingly send multi-part messages that start with text/plain and
later continue with text/html. To them, in their composer, it appears to be a
single, continuous, text. However, in KMail, only the text/plain part is shown
and no indication of a the text/html part is to be seen anywhere - the mail
appears to be truncated and the only way to see the rest is to "View Source".
