Summary: Handling of HTML-mails uncomfortable
Product: KMail Mobile
Version: unspecified
Platform: Maemo 5
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: komo3
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: felix.wolfsteller at intevation.de
kmail(-mobile) can handle and render html mails.
However, I assume the usual scenario is the following:
Due to security concerns (awareness) and readability, the average user disables
html rendering by default (selecting a folder, Actions flap -> View -> Prefer
HTML to plain text [off]). Actually, that is default already.
However in rare cases a mail with html-formatting might drop in which the user
wants to see rendered as such (mails from grammys new unconfigured pc, for
example).
I would expect that:
1) The user is decently informed that a mail contains html formatting
2) The user might decide on a per-mail per-view basis to render the mail as
such
Same goes for "external references" (e.g. embedded images hosted somewhere).
Found unsatisfactory in 4:4.5~20100910.1175630-1maemo6.1174786 .
