After transferring the standard resource for the address book from
~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf to ~/.local/share/contacts and changing the
standard resource to ~/.local/share/contacts (personal contacts), the sender's
picture are also no longer shown in kopete too.

So I think akonadi seems not to provide the sender's picture for other
applications then the kadressbook at the moment.
