Summary: Performance issue: 'Move Folder to' functionality does
not work immediately (Imap folders)
Product: KMail Mobile
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: sabine at kdab.net
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux
The 'Move Folder to...' functionality does not work immediately when moving one
Imap inbox folder as an Imap inbox subfolder.
It is confusing for the user who may think that this functionality does not
work.
Plus it is time consuming to have to wait for the folder to be properly moved.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Prerequisite: create two child folders of the Imap inbox: Folder A and Folder B
Folder A should contain a couple of emails.
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on your Imap account Inbox
- Select Folder A
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Edit'
- Click on 'Move Folder To...'
- Select a location among the ones that are suggested (ex: Imap Server
Name/Inbox/Folder B)
- Click on 'Ok'
Actual Results:
Nothing happens. Folder A's content is still displayed.
- Go to Folder B
Folder B does not contain Folder A as it should be the case
- Wait for 1 or 2 minutes
Folder A is now displayed as a subfolder of Folder B successfully.
If the user clicks on Folder A he can see its emails displayed correctly in the
Message List so this seems to be only a performance issue.
Expected Results:
The moved folder should be moved faster so that the user does not think there
is a bug.
Note: I tried syncing Folder B several times after moving Folder A but it did
not seem to reduce the waiting time for Folder A to be displayed in Folder B.
