Thanks for the information. I wonder if the faulty GCal situation was related
to the crash at all. 
The crash may be related to bug 250138. (similar backtrace and also using Qt
4.7.x). Could you check if modifying the sidebar options (like changing the
icons size or text-only features) of Kontact causes a crash or not ?
