This *is* a very annoying bug and one of the very few blemishes KMail has …even
Thunderbird and Mutt can handle URLs.

Sad news: upstream doesn't seem to concerned about this bug (link in Comment
#34), because it's marked it as "solved" "out of scope".

IMHO if upstream doesn't consider it a bug, it becomes a KDE bug, since a bug
it clearly is!
