- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I can start kmail and even log in to my IMAP account.  However, whenever I try
to open any mailbox, whether local or remote, kmail crashes.  This makes it not
very useful as a mail reader. :) 

I can recompile with additional flags if you think this would be helpful.  Just
let me know what/how.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
