[Bug 256739] Mark Mail as Read does not update (Start maintenance)

I retested this today and I can still reproduce.

However, this seems to be only an update problem since the email is correctly
marked as read if you do the following:

Repeat steps 1 to 4 from the description above
5. Unselect the email (its green check mark should disappear)

Actual result: the email is properly marked as read.

I could not reproduce the 'Mark as important' bug from the description above
though.
