Summary: kmail (viewer?) queues multiple/redundant message
downloads
Product: kmail
Version: 1.13.5
Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: messageviewer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: hh.kde.crash at gmail.com
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux
I had the "detailed progress" selected (ie: the arrow that shows the tasks
queued) because I had a large email message that I was moving.
Anyway, while this was still up, I chose a new folder to display and kmail
began to refresh the message view for the selected meail and the attached
screenshot is the result. Note that there is multiple reads for a single
message queued with *only one* 'update' pending... I wasn't clicking lots of
times etc.
I'm assuming that this is a real issue and not a display artefact with the
"progress indicator/task queue" thingy...
I've marked this as "severity-crash" not because I experienced any crash but
because I believe having seen this kind of problem before that it (multiple
downloads queued) could possibly be a cause of other threading/queuing related
crashes.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
Happened in this session as often as I tried, often enough that I could start
the screen capture app and grab a snapshot.
Seem to work always with a message not already downloaded (not cached?)
Choose a message not already or recently displayed and make sure that the
"detailed" progress stuff is visible.
Actual Results:
For messages not alread cached, multiple
Expected Results:
single read of message queued, message display blocks until read works or
fails.
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-22-generic-pae
Compiler: cc
Kubuntu is distro, no Ubuntu or Kubuntu in pop up (yeah, I know it's Debian
derived!)
