- Launch Kmail
- Go to Settings menu/Configure Kmail...
- Click on 'Accounts' icon
- In 'Receiving' tab, click on 'Add' button to add a new imap resource
- Select 'IMAP E-Mail Server' from the list
- Click on 'Ok'
- In the 'Akonadi Resource' dialogue, 'General' tab information is prefilled of
an old invalid account (ex: address in .net)
- Correct the information using an existing account (ex: address .com)
- In the 'Advanced' tab, click on 'auto detect' button
- Select the 'SSL/TLS' radio button
- Click on 'Ok'

The new Imap resource should be displayed in the folder view (left hand side)
of Kmail whereas it is not.

Note: I retried this and did not get the prefilled information and this time it
worked: the Imap resource and inbox were displayed properly in the folder view.
