This bug applies to KMail in KDE 4.4.x as well.

A sequela of this bug is that closing the KMail window when the system tray
icon is hidden causes KMail to close entirely. (When the system tray icon is
not hidden, closing the KMail window merely minimizes KMail to the system
tray.)
