Summary: Sorting messages by sender produces wrong results if
                    sender's name contains accents
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.13.1
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: kde20100214.20.mlaker at spamgourmet.com

Version: 1.13.1 (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-20-generic

I have received mail from someone whose first name is Pádraig (the second
letter is 'a' with an acute accent). When I sort messages by sender, I expect
his messages to appear between 'org-action-request at ...' and 'Patrick...'.
Instead, they appear between 'Price Cut ...' and 'Quidco'. KMail seems to
treat a-acute as if it were later in the alphabet than any unaccented letter.

The KMail message list displays Pádraig's name correctly. The 'From:' line in
the SMTP header looks like this:

From: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?P=E1draig_Brady?= <[Email address masked]>

So KMail interprets the 'From:' line correctly; it merely sorts accented
characters wrongly.

I'm currently using the default settings from the United Kingdom locale.

Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work on KDE and its
applications.
