I don't think that adding an additional connection method is a valid method to
leave another existing method buggy. 

If KMail will give up its native connection and only use akonadi services, that
might be OK but personally it's very wrong to leave a simple bug because of the
existence of alternate method.

About the IP address: I'm experiencing this bug consistently at my home desktop
computer which runs on an infinite-lease DHCP assigned IP address.
