Not really.

Standalone KMail (I simply don't use Kontact these days) is still affected by
this bug.

Specifically, only IMAP accounts are affected upon application restart, i.e. I
open an IMAP account in KMail, manually adjust column sizes as I please,
restart the app and my adjustments are gone. POP accounts preserve column size
settings over restarts just alright.
