I get this no matter what I am doing.  In my case I launch KMAIL then I begin
writing a new message and in variable within a minute everything freezes and I
am toast I can no longer do anything.  I have left it for more than an hour and
nothing.

KMAIL is useless for me now for more than two weeks!
