I can confirm this bug in Kmail 1.12.4 - using disconnected imap and having
kmail crash whilst kmail seemed to be in the process of checking for mail I
find that all my emails are gone from the server (there seems to be a link
between the crash and the loss of mail but I can't currently be sure of that).

Qt: 4.5.3-4
KDE: 4.3.4-2
KMail: 1.12.4

Mepis 8.5

Fortunately I have a backup of the 10 years of mail that I have on this
particular address as I was simply taking Mepis for a spin. I am more than
happy to give the time to see if this bug can be confirmed as it would be very
serious if someone didn't have a backup.
