Summary: Kmail does not remember empty password on IMAP with
                    anonymous login
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.13.3
          Platform: Mandriva RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: IMAP
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: sinnerbofh at gmail.com

Version: 1.13.3 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS: Linux

For IMAP accounts with anonymous login and empty password, Kmail does not
remember the empty password. Tried checking/unchecking "Store IMAP password",
tried "Security: Authentication Method: Anonymous/Clear Text". Had this problem
on all KMail from KDE 4.x.y versions up to 4.4.3 compiled either by Mandriva
official or Mandriva third-parties

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create account for http://dovecot.org/mailinglists.html called, for example,
dovecot-archives (dovecot.org as the host-name, anonymous as the user-name and
an empty password)
2. Check (or leave unchecked) "Store IMAP password"
3. Set "Security: Authentication Method" to either "Anonymous" or "Clear Text"
4. Save account
5. Exit KMail (or Kontact)
6. Launch KMail (or Kontact)
7. Click on Check Mail in All folders icon

Actual Results:
User gets prompted for password on dovecot-archives
(annonymous-with-no-password) account. If you check the "remember this
password", exit Kmail and try again, you get prompted again for password.

Expected Results:
If password is empty and save password is checked on account configuration,
OR using Anonymous "Security: Authentication Method"
OR user checks "Remember password" on a password dialog and there is an empty
password

THEN KMail should remember that for this account, password is empty and not ask
for password again

Entering a random password on account set up, checking "Remember IMAP password"
and selecting Anonymous "Security: Authentication Method", then KMail does not
ask for password.

This works, but it is ugly and non-intuitive (and wrong)
