Except that in your example you select two lines, unless I read your message
wrong.

Anyway the issue would be how to recognize what are quotation marks and what
are quotation characters that are part of the message. As I see it the only way
to be sure would be to make sure that the quotation marks are inside a <span
class="quotation"></span> construct of some sort, but this will enlarge the
message and introduce one more source of potential parsing errors.

Is it worth the risk?
