It is no resolution, but I want to know whether this still is an issue.
Probably it is none because similiar bugs have been fixed. It's even possible
that the reporter is not available anymore. 
I'm looking through the thousands of kmail bugs currently. I immediately reopen
them if the bug is confirmed in current kmail. If not, I can close them later
when nobody reacts. To be able to do this, I need the waitingforinfo mark on
the bugs. Please don't remove it.
