I seem to have cured it on my system (Fedora 12 with 4.3.85).  Using the
Akonadi Tray system > Configure, I removed the local resource - which was
immediately replaced, but this time pointing to
/home/anne/.local/share/local-mail.  That does exist (I don't know whether it
did before) and the error messages have stopped.
