Summary: KMail Remove Duplicate Messages deletes old messages
Product: kmail
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: workingwriter at prodigy.net
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
In recent versions, the (otherwise very handy) Folder > Remove Duplicate
Messages feature has been behaving strangely.
Occasionally my POP mail server loses its memory of what's been Popped and what
hasn't, releasing an avalanche of "new mail." KMail used to dispose of all the
messages colored red, while leaving the "real" message (which I've often
flagged Important or Action Item or whatever). It appears now to do the
opposite, keeping the new items and removing all the flags.
While I can't pinpoint when this started happening (sorry!), it has been
working this way since at least KDE 4.3, and probably earlier.
