Summary: crashing X server possibly w/ Chinese characters or
                    While Copying/Hightlighting
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: bugs.kde.org at alpinix.com

Version: Kmail 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Kmail is crashing X-server I believe in that I'm taking out of my GUI and
dropped into a command line login. Karmic realizes within 15 seconds that I'm
on the command line and takes me to the X Server login. When I log back in, all
work in all applications have been lost. Therefore I think it is an X-server
crash. This type of crash has only occurred while I'm doing something in kmail.
Therefore I believe that kmail is crashing X. I don't see any type of kmail
warning, crash report, etc.

About 75% of the time if I look at an emailed Google news dispatch with Chinese
characters in it, I get the kmail/X-server crash. The Chinese character crash
hasn't occurred in a "while" though I am still occasionally receiving the type
of emails that would crash.

This morning, Kmail/X-server has crashed within five, maybe ten, minutes of
each other when I tried copying (not pasting but the first step of a
copy-paste). First time crash was when I tried either to hightlight or right
click copy the name of an attachment in an email.

Second crash was the same however I was either highlighting text or had
right-clicked copy normal email text.

Both errors are soft in that I can repeat them consistently.
