maybe the user doesn't care about the technical limitations, but I do, because
I have to implement it... and if it is technically not possible, what exactly
shall I do?!?

Furthermore the user will get an error if creating a new vcard-based address
book does _not_
work, so if there is no error message, everything is ok! Why to state the
obviously?
And if you really do an Import of a vCard (via File -> Import -> vCard), you'll
get a message
box that everything has been imported correctly.
