Logged in again today, after a reboot (but there was a reboot between package
installation and the bug last time) and it is working.

I did notice some peculiar behaviour when the plasma desktop was unlocked, I
would get windows stolen from me (any window I went into would gain focus-
which I wanted- and would pop to the top - which I didn't), perhaps that was
it?
