Thanks for the quick reply, while re-adding the source to akonadi /
kaddressbook did not help, launching kaddressbook stand-alone and then in
kontact helped. I was able to see and edit contact details again. 

Now I wonder why this doesn't work for Eike Hein ...

But thanks for the quick reply, "solved" for me, or at least workarounded.
