--- Comment #146 from Chris <crglasoe gmail com> 2010-12-22 14:54:26 ---
I am a newbie, but have been sending crash reports on this issue for sometime.
I won't pretend to understand the backtraces and I will accept that within
those, there is an indication that the problem is related in someway to Plasma
or Qt4.

However is there any chance that any of these bugs is tied to Akonadi? I ask
because it seems that my ability to sync with my Google calendar and contacts
as well as eGroupware on a local server fails as well.

I notice that some of these bug reports (I realize that I may be commenting on
the wrong bug here) are related to IMAP issues, which if I understand
correctly Kontact handles outside of Akonadi. What I seem to see happening
most of the time for me is related to doing something related to Akonadi
though. Like adding a new calendar or trying to figure out why Google
calendar is no longer in sync.

Given all the moving parts and having been out of the coding world for 20+
years I am only offering "out of the box" comments. All of this may have been
reviewed already. Sometimes it takes someone asking stupid questions though.
