Summary: Encrypted messages from Kmail show up strangely at
Microsoft Outlook recipient.
Product: kmail
Version: 1.13.5
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: gerald.pichler at sinuspro.at
Created an attachment (id=50752)
--> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=50752)
Returned unencrypted Mail from my recipient who yust pressed the "return"
button on my encrypted Mail.
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux
When an encrypted message is sent from Kmail to some other Mail application, it
is shown as attached encrypted file there, not as Email. When this attachment
is decrypted, it looks rather strange.
When Thunderbird sends an encrypted Message, it is recieved fine with the same
application.
Is it possible to send encrypted messages identically to whatever Thunderbird
would send? If this would mean some features of Kmail would not work properly,
could it be made an option in the KMail settings to send encrypted mail like
thunderbird?
As additional info I attached a mail which I sent to my recipient as encrypted
mail, containing an encrypted attachment. My recipient hit the "reply" button
and the attached file is what I got back.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Look into how Thunderbird sends an encrypted message, and replicate this
behavior.
My system is Fedora 13, all updates are applied.
