One additional information which i hope might be helpful, is that a repeatable
and reliable way to make kMail failing is simply to disconnect the internet
connection. after re-establishing the connection kMail won't be able to update
any IMAP mail accounts and sometimes corrupts the mail folder by repeating the
same email over and over again
