repeat via command line kMail start :
here is what i get (in 10 out of 10 cases) when i repeat a kMail start from the
command line 

bernd at ubuntu:~$ kmail
Connecting to deprecated signal
QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
kmail(1714) KMFolderMgr::removeFolderAux: Can not find parent folder for  Last
Search 
*** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing)
<unknown program name>(1713)/: Communication problem with  "kmail" , it
probably crashed. 
Error message was:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not
receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" "
