Summary: Usability issue in the "remove attachment" function
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.12.1
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: stefan.kebekus at web.de

Version: 1.12.1 (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 161",
KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.29-0.1-default

I often receive e-mails with a large number of fairly large attachments that I
do not want to keep. Before moving the e-mail to the folder where I store such
mails, I remove the attachments. I am very glad that kmail offers such a
feature.

However, there are two usability issues in the implementation

(1) Every time I use the "remove attachment" from the menu, kmail warns me
"Removing the attachment might make the digital signature invalid", even if the
mail is not digitally signed. This is quite annoying. I suggest to show this
warning only if the mail in question is signed AND if the signature is valid.
Perhaps there should be an option to remove the signature once it becomes
invalid?

(2) Every time I have removed an attachment, kmail does not show the mail
anymore, but proceeds to show the next mail. If I remove many attachments, I
will have to go back to the original mail times and again, which is quite
annoying.

It would be great if these two issues could be fixed. I appreciate your
efforts!

Best,

Stefan Kebekus.
