This bug can be still experienced on KDE 4.3.3 (and earlier 4.3 versions).

After quitting Kontact, there are some processes left:
kdeinit4: kio_imap4 [kdeinit] imap local:/tmp/ksocket....
kdeinit4: kio_imap4 [kdeinit] imaps local:/tmp/ksocket....
kdeinit4: kio_pop3 [kdeinit] pop3 local:/tmp/ksocket....

One cannot start Kontact again without "killall kontact" first.
