Summary: Loss of all rules and settings after system reset,
                    "kill X" or kde-crash
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: qeldroma at gmx.net

Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

I think this is related to the bugs 192661 and 192778

After a logout, my kde lost it's settings, i got default-settings. Implied with
this, kmail lost ALL settings, including rules, smtp, imap and pop3-accounts
and identities!

I can reproduce this if i kill X while i am logged in in kde, i have this now
since the first(!) KDE v4 release until now, so it has something to do with KDE
v4.

Possible explanation:

It seems to me, that beginning with kde 4 after a kde-crash, kde reinitializes
it's own settings and deletes them unfortunately.
As theese settings are in the same place as the settings for kmail, i believe
that with this reinitialization the kmail settings die.
