in my case, the migrator seems to be fired up by kopete, and the latter is
blocking for the time the error window is up (i get no window (which would be
ok, as i have it auto-hidden) and the space in the tray is reserved but
otherwise dead). so maybe this is an interaction with some timeouts in kopete?

btw, volker, you told me to put a breakpoint somewhere ... where exactly would
that be?
