OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Hi,
I've been using dimap to get my mail. After I "Check Mail In" kmail's progress
bar in the bottom-left corner flicks through 0 to 100% many times, once for
every time it checks and grabs messages from each folder in my email account.
It's been like this for as long as I can recall, but it just occurred to me how
weird that behaviour is.
Flicking through 0 to 100% many times only tells you that things are
progressing, but it gives no indication of how far along the process actually
has gone. That makes the entire idea of using a percentage progress bar
pointless. IMO the progress bar should indicate the total progress of the
current operation (in this case, updating all folders), and should hit 100% if
and only if all folders have been updated.
The current situation might make some sense when the details panel is up, since
you can see which folder the operation is currently up to and estimate (by the
alphabetical ordering) how many more there are to go, but otherwise it just
doesn't make sense.
