It seems that this has been a misunderstanding all along.

This has been misinterpreted as a request for currently missing functionality,
while it is actually a request for currently missing visualiation of available
functionality.

It shouldn't be a problem to hide the root folder "Local Folders" and have an
account assistant which creates receiving/sending accounts, identity, folders
and associates the folders accordingly.

The full flexibility would still be available for those skipping the assistant
and doing a detailed setup.
