1st, KDevelop seems to have a similar problem, see
  “Can't use --nofork for KUniqueApplications from another kde process”,

2nd, Attached is a bash(1) script which attempts to work-around the
    problem.  Use at own risk; Your mileage may vary; Etc, etc ... .
