Hmm, my KDE 4.2 on Debian Sid behaves consistently inasmuch neither way works
for me, now..

I will test it with a new user soonish but I don't dare do much to my main KDE
session right now as I am running something long-ish & important and need all
the RAM I can get (so spawning on tty8 is not an option).
