I also want to stress the importance of this feature!
This kind of feature is how kde/linux can get the edge over other OSs.
Most of the time, when people send me photos, they are extremely oversized. And
that's not because they want it that way, but because they don't know better.
And when I'm sending photos, I really find it annoying to open a photo editor
just to resize it.
